Schwarm by Andreas Nicolas Fischer

Berlin based Artist Andreas Nicolas Fischer has created a Processing algorithm that brings swarm knowledge to photographs.

The Algorithm analyzes a sequence of photographs and utilizes the tonal value data to animate a swarm of color derived from the photograph, similar to brush strokes. The motion perceived by the Processing application becomes the foundation of the swarm, in terms of speed and direction and seamlessly carries on this path, with it’s own interpretation. The resulting images are stunning prints of color that seem to be made by the digital Van Gogh of today.
